About The Village |
It takes a village to raise a child..."No matter how old we are, we are children of the village, the community that raised us and supported us helped to shape the way we see the world." - Jacob Devaney

Nevada has again ranked last in the nation for education. The Silver State landed at 51st out of the 50 states and the District of Columbia in Education Week magazine’s latest Quality Counts report, frequently used as a national comparison for the quality of public education in each state. Like last year 2017, the state earned an overall grade of D — below the country’s national C grade. Limited resources and funding are major contributors to the education crisis in the state.
According to UNLV’s Center for Democratic Culture, in the last 10 years Nevada was ranked 2nd in the nation for violent crimes, ranked 2nd in the nation for vehicle theft and ranked 3rd in the nation for robbery. Children learn character and qualities by mirroring what they see and what they hear, and unfortunately these activities have become commonplace in our area. The Village LHC believes youth delinquency can be prevented with proper care, community support, and education.
